It's in my tummy

I just went upstairs to turn a movie off that Jaxson was watching and noticed this snowglobe that was on the table had a piece missing from the bottom.
I showed it to Jaxson the conversation went like this

Me "Have you seen the part that is missing from the bottom here"

While patting his belly he says "yeah its in my tummy"

Me "Are you sure? You didn't do that Jaxson, why would you do that? Maybe I'll find it around here somewhere in the couches"

Jaxson "You won't find it somewhere its in my tummy, you can't see it"

WELL....that's a new one for me, guess I'll be doing some digging...in the couches people! The couches!

I'm hoping our little man was just mistaken on all of this....

Just Cause...

I have no specific reason for this post...

It's not raining in this picture- it was earlier and we were out enjoying the very nice drop in temperatures...even if it's only temporary.

Poor Jaxson has had two huge Two Year Old Molar's come through this last week. This look with the finger in the mouth seems to be a constant for this little guy as his gums do not feel good!

Football anyone....I guarantee I can ask Scott at this very moment what the countdown is to the first Texas A&M football game and he wouldn't hesitate to think of the number. Jaxson is geared up too!

Lots of Fun!

Yesterday we headed over to a little party at Grace's house, Grace is a friend of Jaxson's from school. Her mom and I met at a pregnancy exercise class at Dell and the kids have been in school together and adore each other! They had lots of fun stuff to play with, but the best was this little roller coaster thing. I've never seen anything like this and wondered how Jaxson would react to it.....as expected he was fearless!!

READY.... SET
GO!!!

REPEAT!!

Today while driving to school Jaxson says to me
"Hey, do you hear the words that are coming out of my mouth"

Why YES son I do- and clearly every time I have said that to you and you've ignored me you HAVE heard the words that were coming out of my mouth!!

6 Year Anniversary

Today we celebrate 6 wonderful years of marriage. As I look back on how we have celebrated our anniversary over the years I had to laugh today as I loaded Jaxson up into the car for a playdate with his friend; waving to Scott who is pulling weeds and watering the lawn.
Tonight we are looking forward to our celebration at a place that has a lot of meaning and history to us- the Oasis of Austin . Here we are back in 2002 at the Oasis just before we got engaged.

And again in 2004 at our rehearsal dinner at the Oasis. This is our wedding party.

The Oasis has changed a lot over the last six years but it still holds a lot of great memories for us. It would be so great if every wedding anniversary came with a honeymoon vacation the next day.....oh how I would love to be back at this place we stayed at in Belize.

Maybe for our 10 year anniversary. Until then we will continue to celebrate in our own special way, celebrating an amazing marriage today and everyday of the year!

Questions??

I can answer 1,579 questions in one hour.....how??? Because that is how many questions Jaxson can ask...okay maybe that's a slight exaggeration but it feels like it!
Holy cow! I completely get that this is a developmental thing, he's learning about new stuff....got it, yep, check....but I'm running out of info by the 15th question of "why" and I'm starting to fill my answers with made up information! If I turn it around and ask him a question or say the question back to him he gets so angry. I get "no mommy, I'm asking" or "no mommy, use another word".

Today I had to just start laughing at the conversation...or trail of questions. He was not happy with my laughing! Oh well, I guess I'll make a little game out of it and keep laughing at this crazy kid!

Sunglasses!

Jaxson deciced that Tanner needed to wear the sunglasses too, this is where he decided they would be best on Tanner!

They didn't last long and Marley quickly ran away before it was his turn!

Projects

I've had a few days off before I start my new job and I immediately knew I wanted to fill my free time with projects.
First I painted the art niche in the living room.

Then I spent the next four hours re-imaging my computer- thank you Dell for the 110 updates to my computer that took forever to load! One tip though- put your favorite links you have in Internet Explorer in a word document so when you backup your computer all of that is there...in the event that your computer crashes....I'm totally not speaking from experience!

Day two I painted our half bath upstairs. The color is a gorgeous, warm yellow and I love it! It might be close in shade to the color in our dining room but who cares....its a great color!

The next project in line for day two was borrowing my mom's sewing machine to test my crafting skills further. I sewed this adorable camera strap cover. If you ever get a nice camera it will always come standard with the most obnoxious, ugly strap...so i covered it! And I love it!

Well that's all I have time for today! What will tomorrow bring....

Exercise

Yesterday when we got home Jaxson headed out back with the dogs. He had taken his dump truck and was "working". I noticed he was going beyond the grass into the empty lot with the cactus and asked him to come back to the grass.

The conversation went like this:
Me "Jaxson please come back to the grass I don't want you to get stickers in your feet"
Jaxson "But mama I'm just working"
Me "That's fine you can work on the grass okay"
He then walks over to the grass and throws his dump truck down.
Jaxson "I'm done working"
While clapping his hands over his head and walking towards me:
"I'm just exercising" hands still clapping
"It's what I do, it's my favorite"

This video is from a few weeks ago of Jaxson showing us his skill of jumping jacks. He appears to have my amazing lack of coordination at this point- but I'm sure he'll grow out of it :)

Ramblings...

Jaxson is at such a fun age, while he does have his terrible two moments every now and then he really is a GREAT kid! One of the things we love the most about this age is his comments and conversations. He really cracks us up! I remember most of the funny & cute things but I'm not great at documenting them...so I'm going to make a better effort of putting it here in our blog for us to remember.

Tonights comment was priceless:

"See daddy, my face is not crying. I'm happy, I'm not sad."

Boom Crash!

This year was Jaxson's first year to experience a full fireworks show, last year we missed them. We had an amazing front row view for his first firework show...I think this one will be hard to match! We headed over to Grayson's place which has a balcony view of Auditorium Shores. The sounds made his little heart beat really fast and he seemed scared, but he quickly warmed up to the fireworks show and was very excited about them. Jaxson has been telling us all about the fireworks, the very big boom crash (he even claps his hand and jumps when he's telling this- so cute), all of the colors, etc. It was a great 4th of July!
