Five Years!

Today officially marks 5 years from the day we moved into the house. The memories of the whole process are still so clear- from buying the land, to buying the plans, to seeing walls come up, to every little decision and detail...it all came together and 5 years later we are still beyond blessed!

I love everything about where we live and I love everything about this house- it is our forever home...and if we had to move we would build this home all over again!
My top 5 things I love about this house:
  1. Safety- my kids can ride their bikes up and down the driveway and not even go into the street, there's so much room for them to play and be safe. At night I can accidentally leave all doors unlocked and the garage open- and wake up in the morning and everything is still there. We can walk down the street and there's barely a car on the road.
  2. Friendship- we have the coolest neighbors- directly and indirectly around us. Our street does lots of block parties and even though our homes are spread apart I know pretty much everyone on our street. There's so many kids out here! Jaxson can hop on his bike and be at a friends house down the street and play until its time to eat dinner!
  3. Community- I love that we are in a small community for the school and sports. I love that we go to the football games and see the town show up. I love that we play sports with so many families that we are getting to know. I love that our kids go to schools where people share our values. This is the community we are proud to be a part of.
  4. Happiness- I love that we were able to put in this pool, that our home will become a place where our kids friends will want to hang out. That they can go into the game room and play inside- go in the driveway and have things to do out there. I love that Scott & I can sit on the porch and look at the stars at night. I love that we can be at home- but feel like we are on vacation!
  5. Family- The last and most important thing I love about this house is the people we get to enjoy it with and the memories we get to make. Jaxson learning to ride a bike for the first time, loosing his first tooth (and accidentally spitting it down the drain), Bailey coming home for the first time, taking her first steps. The memories are endless and its priceless that we can create them here in this wonderful home.
When Scott and I got married we danced to a John Michael Montgomery song called "Home to You"- throughout the song the lyrics talk about always coming Home to You. I love that song and I love how true it is to our life- no matter how the day goes- good or bad- I get to come home to you. We are so blessed not only to come home to each other and to our kids- but to come home to this house each and every day. This home has blessed us for 5 years and we are excited for MANY more!

Swim and Smile

I can't help but smile from ear to ear when I see these happy faces in the pool. They claim the water felt good, but I'm not convinced quite yet. These three don't let temperatures keep them from getting right in- and brave Bailey asking to have the water poured on her! I'm sure you'll get to see a lot of pictures of time in the pool- I just can't get enough!

Easter 2015

Easter this year was a mixture of good and bad weather- but that doesn't stop the kids from having a good time. Saturday we were able to find this gorgeous field of bluebonnets in our neighborhood, the sun was behind the clouds but bright enough that it made it hard to see. The kids pushed through and gave us a few cute pictures in the bluebonnets.
Next we headed over to mom & dads for Easter with the family. The kids had a great time playing with Ian and we snuggled and giggled with Lillie.
The kids raced and ran as fast as they could to snag up the eggs- Bailey found a few and sat down to snack.
The kids were thrilled to have their pictures taken.
Round two went a little better
Easter morning was precious in our house- Jaxson had gotten up early and peaked at his basket but he waited until Bailey got up to come get us to get into the basket. They'd consumed 4k grams of sugar by 8am but that's the fun of being a kid.
The weather was cold and misting all day- so we moved to plan B for the Easter outfits- lets be real, they looks cute in everything!
We headed off to church to celebrate the real reason for Easter and praise Jesus for our blessings! After a nice afternoon at home we headed over to the Richters for some inside Easter activities because of the weather.
I love how we can share conversations with Jaxson that Easter isn't about the eggs! We're thankful for our families to celebrate these holidays with and the smiles we have watching our sweet kids, nephew and niece love on each other! It was a Happy Easter!

Catching Up

Wow life gets crazy and before you know it its a month since the last blog post! Here's some fun pictures of our last month.

Jaxson has decided washing dishes is the coolest thing ever...and we think he's the coolest thing ever for wanting to do them. Now if we can convince him cleaning bathrooms is the coolest thing ever then we will have it all figured out :)
The weather has been gorgeous and we are loving our pool! If you can't find us- we are outside in our little vacation spot soaking up the sun and making memories!

Jaxson has a lot of baseball practices each week so Bailey and I get a lot of one on one time together. We've been taking walks, swinging on the swings and keeping busy with everything else Bailey loves to do.

A few weeks ago I was going to get a pedicure and decided to take Bailey with me. She got her first mani and pedi- she was literally in heaven! She picked out this adorable purple polish and they even put little flowers on her fingers and toes, adorable!!

The pool is quite chilly, but Scott and Jaxson don't seem to mind. Bailey loves splashing on the sundeck area. We've even had the kids in the hot tub, which they thought was the coolest thing ever. They both slept in the next day...we should do that more often.

Here's Jaxson and his best friend Branson after their baseball game where they played each other. It's been a tough season for the Braves, but Jaxson keeps his head up high and keeps playing hard.

We had our grand opening at our church.... it was AMAZING! The kids got these super cool sunglasses that Sunday at church- because our church is just cool like that :)

This past weekend we had our first tournament of the season in Marble Falls. The kids did so great on the first game and Jaxson even scored a home run. He said the mustache helped him hit the ball to get a home run. After the game the coach gave him the ballgame for his passion and hard work for baseball. We are so proud of him!
