Lake Trip...last Day
The last day on the lake was less humid and very windy. It was the first time we hadn't seen the water perfectly still. That didn't stop some water fights and floating in the water.
That night we headed to "The Pit" for dinner... a local dive of sorts.
Final pictures on the deck. Our lake trip was fantastic!! Everything I hoped we would do...we did! My best memories as a kid were at my grandparents lake house and I am SO excited to have somewhere special like this to make memories with our kids. We will definitely be coming back to the lake again!!
I just had to add this in, Jaxson and Ian just love each other. It is so cute to watch Ian's face light up when Jaxson walks in the room. Several times we caught Jaxson walking over to Ian and patting him on the head or trying to play with him. These pictures are so sweet of the cousins!
One morning while Jaxson was eating breakfast Ian just randomly started laughing at Jaxson every time Jaxson would laugh. It was the first time Ian had laughed on his own without someone tickling him or something. It was SOOOO sweet!!

Lake Trip - Turtle Races
Every trip to the lake is complete with Turtle Races...or something like that. This little town around 30 minutes from the lake house has a weekly turtle race. Its amazing there are several hundred entries every week! They even have a turtle Queen..seriously!!
Ian and Jaxson selected their perfect Turtles and participated in a very nail biting race. We didn't win, but the competition was fierce!!
Jaxson named our turtle Bobble head
We stopped off at this local shop and I really had to talk myself out of buying these :) My feet were boiling from the 5 seconds I had these on!

Lake Trip Part Five
Day five was more of a relaxing day with time in the lake and not much on the schedule.
We floated in the lake some more
Splashed and swam some more
Caught more fish
Checked out the wildlife
Uncle Mike and Harriet came out to visit
Each day the dogs could be found on the couch like this...passed out. All day long they'd run and play and have a blast. It would catch up with them by night time.
Yet another beauty from the lake!

Lake Trip Part Four
Day four was golfing for Dad, Nikki, Scott and Jaxson. The first time to golf for Nikki and Jaxson. The humidity was very high which made for a VERY hot day for them. But from the looks of these pictures they had a blast!!
The last shot for each of them they did a Happy Gilmore style shot. Jaxson came back telling me he did a "Happy shot", so funny!! They said his shot was very impressive and went really far!!
Here's a video of Nikki's "Happy Shot".

Lake Trip Part Three
Day three was filled with more humidity and overcast. That didn't stop us from getting out on the boat.
The view of the house from the lake.
That afternoon my cousin Neil and his family and Aunt Barb and Greg arrived for a nice afternoon visit. Neil's son Hunter is Jaxson age and they had a great time together. We loaded up the water ammunition and headed to the lake for a water war.
Nikki and I floated away from the water path to float peacefully in the water.
I can only imagine the stories being told at this table.
Some version of Skip Bo was happening..not likely by the books :)
The basement has the perfect space for games, the kids had a blast!
The night was complete with yet another perfect sunset! I can't believe Scott got this one on my cell phone, beautiful!!!

Lake Trip Part two
Day two at the lake was HUMID...what do you do on a hot humid day...you get in the lake!
Mom's side of the family arrived around noonish...all 32 of 37 of family members were present! WOW!! It was so great to see everyone and spend a nice relaxing day!
It was the first time for all of the great grand kids to be together- Jaxson, Ian and Emma
Jaxson went fishing for the first time and caught a fish right away... he caught a lot of fish while we were there!
Relaxing on the hammock by the lake was a must!
Even Ian loved his little pool
Day two was great, we were all pruned from the hours spent in the water. It was perfect!
