Adventures in Potty Training take 2

Last week I decided the time had come to get on with potty training. Bailey has been good about going while at school but wasn't too interested when she got home. The calendar was looming and the fact that it was a three day weekend was the perfect fit to get r done! We started talking about it during the week- my excitement was shot when her little fingers popped up waving in the air "mommy I will not wear big girl underwear"...oh dear this is going to be fun! We had some princess panties and one night she seemed pretty excited to try them on...quickly followed by running into the kitchen and hiding behind the curtains while she proceeded to pee all over the floor! So Friday came and we needed a big event to get her excited, so off to Kohls we went to let her pick out her own panties!

She was SO proud! She even brought them into the next store opening them up in the dressing room trying to put them on over her pants!
So Saturday was the big day - off with the diapers..on with the panties! She did great! She even asked to go to the bathroom twice while at Disney on Ice!
All afternoon was perfect! That night we went to the block party and mom didn't pay attention to well to the time... So the accidents happened! All in all day 1 was way better than I expected!

Day two we braved breakfast out of the house and she did great! All afternoon she had no accidents and made it seem like potty training was going to be a breeze!

That night we headed for a evening of fun with the cousin and family... She got distracted and we had accidents! Oh well it's all part of learning, plus she was having too much fun to remember!
Day 3 came and she decided to play and really big joke and forget every single thing we had been working on! Accidents among accidents-but she did fill the chart and we celebrated with ice cream to hopefully re-encourage her to keep trying!
Yesterday was her first day away from me 100% in panties, I was slightly nervous given the way the day before ended up. I told the teacher to take her every 30 minutes and hopefully that would keep us ahead of the accidents. Yesterday when I picked her up she had the same pants on as the morning! Not ONE mistake what a proud moment! She is still wearing diapers to bed and at nap but is 100% in panties during the day! I am SO glad she is trained and so proud of her for doing so well!!!!

Memorial weekend adventures

We had a fun filled Memorial Day weekend! Scott and Jaxson headed off to watch the Stars play while Bailey and I did a little shopping for some big girl underwear!

We were so excited to meet our friends for dinner while they were in town. Bailey loves Quinn!
Amidst potty training, we braved an adventure away from the house and headed to Disney on Ice!
And then to a wonderful block party!
Sunday we did some yard work
Captured a picture to document 15 years since we met!
Went swimming with our cousin
Dressed up for no reason at all
And visited those who gave it all for our freedom! It was a fun, fast and blessed Memorial Day weekend!

Sprinkler Fun

Jaxson was so excited to get the sprinkler out and get wet!

Bailey was not exactly thrilled....
She'd rather hide away from the cold water :)
Enjoying the sun!

Baseball Season

Jaxson's first coach pitch baseball season has ended. The last tournament was a nail biter for sure! The kids did a great job and we were all up on our feet screaming in excitement at how great they were doing at each game. They finished in third place for the tournament and second place for the season. I wish I had a play by play of the 24 hours after he received his trophy.....it was with him all day long, every where he went. He was so proud, it was seriously adorable!

Mother's Day Weekend

This year I got the best Mother's Day gift of all, a weekend camping with my family! It was so perfect! We went to our "home" in the woods- Inks Lake and we were lucky enough to get one of our favorite campsites. We recently made some investments into our camping gear and Scott said it was like Christmas :) I agree our little additions certainly made the camping experience even more perfect!

The kids wasted no time getting out the toys, laughing, playing and getting dirty...a requirement to camping :)
Night time fun for the first day....fire, glow sticks and skip bo with Jaxson!
Saturday was filled with fun at the park, a few games of checkers, canoeing on the lake, swimming in the lake....
And if that wasn't enough fun we went back to the campsite to jump on the beds, eat ice cream and get dirty....
Oops....brain freeze.... (this face just makes me laugh, I couldn't help but include it)
Sunday morning we headed back to the lake for more fun
What an amazing weekend, so many wonderful memories were made at our home in the woods :) And you know its a good one when everyone in your family is looking forward to your next trip! I am so thankful to be a Mommy to these two amazing kids and thankful for my amazing husband who spoiled me all weekend! I am beyond blessed!
