Huckleberry and Finny

Meet our new pets, Huckleberry and Finny. We found this old fish tank at my parents house, I think I got this when I was in 8th grade and its still in good shape. We picked up two female Betas for our tank today.

Jaxson decided this was his fish since Red is his favorite color. His first name selection was "Monster Truck"...of course. He finally settled on Finny, which is so cute!

Jaxson told Daddy this was his fish because Blue is his favorite color. Scott has named this one Huckleberry

Jaxson is so cute watching the fish and talking about his Finny.

Hopefully these fish last a while I'm not ready for that conversation yet!

The Fence

Two years ago this week we moved out of this house (WOW!!!)

To embark on the craziest plan of our lives- we moved everything into a townhome for what we thought would be a short stay...and thanks to mother nature turned into a longer stay. We built our dream home, and 13 months later we moved into this house

Well this week we got a fence, this might not seem like a big deal- but to us this is a huge deal!

Our dogs have been without a fenced yard for two years! They freaked when we moved into the townhome and really had no yard, then when we moved into the new house they were pretty good about staying in the yard- but there were MANY times they would take adventures. It's a good thing they are cute because our neighbors could get tired of them real fast.

It's amazing to think of all that has happened over the last two years and I am so blessed to be here in this home...with a great new fence!

A Cowboy Weekend

We took a mini trip this weekend out to the Cowboy Capital of the World, Bandera Texas. Our friends the Trussel's live out there at the Flying A Ranch. Their little guy Brady was having his third birthday party and we wanted to be there to celebrate. We headed out early Friday morning and made a quick stop at the outlet mall in San Marcos. We got to the ranch mid afternoon and it was nice and toasty..most of us walked away with a little pink tint from our time outside. After we got settled in the boys got busy doing boy things while the girls headed into town for a little shopping. Jaxson had a blast throwing rocks into the creek and scaring away the fish.

He had a little help fishing and even caught a little fish, which we tossed back in.

After the sun went down the fish went to sleep, we hung around at the creek listening to the frogs. It is so peaceful and beautiful out there! Saturday morning Scott got up early to meet up with Brent for a drive around the ranch. Scott had a blast and even had a chance to shoot of some of Brent's guns. After they were done playing we took a quick trip into town to kill some time at some of the local shops. The boys look too cute in their cowboy hats.

Jaxson of course wanted a new pair of boots, I think we'll wait until his feet slow down on growing before we make that investment.

After our little outing we headed back to Brady's house for his big birthday party. Jaxson immediately jumped in this Lightning McQueen car and drove it until the battery died! He was in heaven with all of the toys. Everyone else's toys are always more cool!

Brady had the coolest cake ever- a Toy Story cake and it was delicious!
Our little mini trip was a lot of fun! It was great to catch up with good friends, enjoy the beautiful country and do something different for a change. I think Bandera will be seeing more of us for sure!

The Adventures at San Gabriel River

We took a little adventure today down to the San Gabriel river in our neighborhood. The weather was perfect for a little outing and Jaxson had a blast. He could stand there for hours throwing rocks into the water! He had a blast climbing around the rocks, crossing the river and checking out the animal prints along the way.

Jaxson has a ton of toys in his playroom, but his favorite times are being outside. This litte adventure will be repeated throughout the years I'm sure, great memories!

Kiddie Acres

Today we met up with the Warrens at Kiddie Acres. Jaxson's level of excitement from the moment we pulled into the parking lot was off the charts, he was in heaven! This place has been opened since 1979...and clearly hasn't made any upgrades since then...but Jaxson and Reagan were unphased by that, they had a blast! The rides are just the perfect size and most of them the kiddos could do on their own. We really enjoyed our little outing and will be back there again I'm sure.
