Outside

The past two nights have been so great to be outside- and that's exactly where we have been. Summer, I have loved you- but I am thankful that the fall temperatures are creeping in!

Pool construction

This week has been an exciting week for us as we finalized everything on our pool. We've signed all of the paperwork, picked out the rock, stone and colors for the pool. We've had quite a bit of rain so that's likely to stall digging-something we are very familiar with. Mother Nature knows when we speak the words "construction" it is time to rain!

The whole process will likely take around three months which will put us into the cooler months-just in time to fire up the hot tub! We absolutely love the design, it is exactly what we had in mind and the company we selected has been amazing! The kids are thrilled and I'm sure will be on edge waiting for it to be done. Let the pool construction begin!!!

San Antonio Family Fun

Saturday we headed out early to San Antonio for a fun day! First stop was the San Antonio Zoo

The kids loved the petting area where they could brush the pigs and the goats, we were there early enough that there was only one other family in there. Plenty of pets to brush!
The animals were all out roaming, thankfully it wasn't too warm that morning to make them hide from the sun.
You can't really tell what's going on here but there were two huge Hippos in the water. Bailey was walking around singing the baby shark song- we did not see any sharks on this trip.
By this point we were all getting a little warm and a little hungry- so off to the Riverwalk for lunch and more fun. After lunch we stopped at this cute ice cream parlor for a chilly treat.
Next up was a cruise on the boat- its been 13+ years since Scott & I road on this boat. The kids really enjoyed it.
Our last stop for our San Antonio trip was a quick pass through the Alamo....check that off the list for the next 25 years....boring!
And after all that fun it was a quiet ride home- these two were worn out!
What a fun day for all of us!

Friday Night Lights

Friday was the first Liberty Hill Football game, Jaxson couldn't wait to get there and run across the field with his friends. This time we arrived with plenty of time! Bailey was totally into checking everything out and really interested in the dancers.

Jaxson stood at the fence the whole time with a whole bunch of kids that he knew. The game was terrible, but the kids had a great time. Bailey really enjoyed the half time show and danced along with the dancers in the aisle of the bleachers. That girl has no fear I love it!
That night Jaxson was on the news, I had no idea this happened until the next day. He nonchalantly mentions it after I get a picture from one of my friends who saw him on the news! So funny! He said he saw the camera guy come by and got excited- and it worked :)

The Paci Project

Ever since Bailey was born she has been the most amazing sleeper! Sleeping through the night by around 5 months old, taking amazingly long naps and never having any of the nightmare issues we experienced with Jaxson's nighttime routines. I'd have to say a lot of that was we learned the right way to do it the second time around and she's had a paci to keep her comforted and help her fall to sleep quickly. A few weeks ago after her dentist appointment I set a goal to have her done with the paci by October 1st. Being that it was a long weekend I decided to give it a shot and see how she would do. I'd received several great suggestions on ideas on how to get rid of it- none of which would work for this girl. Making things just disappear only means she's a screaming disaster...but she loved the stamp chart when we potty trained so I decided to give that a shot. Thursday when I picked her up we got all excited about the chart, talked it up and went over and over and over how that night was going to go- she was on board!!

We rounded up all of the paci's and carefully put them in a special bag that wouldn't be in the room. The whole time she's telling me all about being a big girl and going to bed without her paci! She was ready!!
That night she laid down without any issues and hardly fussed! At one point she started crying for me and when I went in there she only needed to go potty! That morning she came running into the kitchen SO excited about how she DID IT! She loved putting that stamp on that chart- and we had to keep reminding her that we had to keep working at it! That day she took her pig to school to nap with instead of the paci- she was ready to go! She however did not nap- and threw a huge fit waking up her whole class instead...yep that's Bailey for you! Over the weekend she did better and better, nap time still continues to be a little challenging just getting her to settle down and rest. The amount of time she is actually sleeping during nap time is much shorter- but one small step at a time. She did so great and got her ice cream party. She of course wanted pink ice cream- she could care less what that tasted like as long as it was pink! Such a girl!
We are so proud of Bailey! She loved that paci but she loved the stamps and the ice cream party more! I had 20 different scenarios in my mind on how this whole thing was going to go and it went so smooth- I am so proud of her and so thankful that she didn't give us a run for our money on this one! Way to go Bailey
