Bailey's Faces...

Tuesday, August 14, 2012

We have a tooth!

Bailey has been working on a tooth for several days, it has officially broken through and very visible. She's done pretty good with the tooth so far, minimal discomfort and fussiness but still her happy little self!

Texas A&M Scrimmage

This past week Scott was telling me about this Fan Appreciation Day Scrimmage at Texas A&M that was going to be on Saturday. I did a little searching around online and found some more information about the event. It sounded so cool, and even better that it was free! How can you beat that! We were so excited to surprise Jaxson with the news that he would be heading to College Station to see the Aggie football players. We of course had to wait until Saturday morning to tell him the exciting news because he wouldn't be able to wait if we told him any earlier. So Friday night we spread the news that Saturday has a BIG surprise for him, he of course tried to guess and was on edge for Saturday morning. So Saturday morning rolls around and I'm up at 5:30 getting Bailey fed...out comes Jaxson wide awake and ready to get going for the day! I just had to laugh, it was like Christmas for this kiddo! So a little while later we tell him the big surprise, he jumped off the couch dancing around- it was just too cute!! So the boys get geared up in their best Texas A&M gear and head out the door to pick up Bunca for the fun day ahead.

Every time my phone text would go off I was smiling ear to ear looking at the fun they were having. A quick update mid day from Scott was just what I expected...Jaxson was on cloud nine! They got there in time to cruise around the campus and check out the special spots that are so unique to the history of Texas A&M.

Then it was scrimmage time for the players. I mean how cool is this...they are on the field watching the players! Can you imagine this being his first time to be this close to a football game and this is his experience! WHAT A DAY!!

The scrimmage was followed by autograph signing by the team. Jaxson got to get an awesome poster to get autographs on. He got to give "Gig 'Em's" to the players and even got his hat signed by the coach! (sorry I can't figure out why this won't flip)

A very fun day filled with incredible memories for these boys! I really enjoyed hearing his version of the day! They wore him out!!

Bathroom Project

A month ago I decided I wanted to do a house project...because you know I have a ton of free time and that's what people with two kids, a full time job and a list of other stuff need to be doing. Well anyways....I started the idea and was so excited to re-do the kids bathroom into a cute Owl themed bathroom. I didn't really have a complete idea in mind, I was just going to go with it.

Here's the before photos:

I picked up this cute shower curtain from Target and decided to use this as my inspiration to work from. I loved the color of the trees, but when I went to Lowes to get paint they didn't have anything that was perfect....so they mixed a custom paint and it turned out...well PERFECT!

How totally cute are these hanging Owl's! I thought I was so crazy when I had the idea to hang these Owls...because they are pillows! I just love the colors, fabric and think they are just such an adorable addition..and of course unique decoration for a bathroom!

I've had this stick since I was pregnant with Jaxson. It has some sentimental meaning to me and was so excited to get to use it in their bathroom. The stick is from our trip to North Carolina, we'd gone on what we thought was a short hike- we ended up on the wrong path, resulting in a 3 mile hike on the path. I was five months pregnant and this stick was with me during that hike. I found these cute owls on Etsy and came up with the idea to hang them from the stick. They are supposed to be picture frames, I painted them and added the little sayings to finish them off.

I'm SO excited about the finished look of this project!!
