Popo's Ride

Jaxson got the special treat of taking a cruise in Popo's car on Thanksgiving, he loved it!

I'm sure there will be a lot of memorial cruises in this car as he gets older, fun memories!

Marble Falls Christmas Lights

On the night before Thanksgiving Scott had this great idea to head out to Marble Falls for the Walkway of Lights. So we filled out tummies full of yummy Mexican food and headed over to Marble Falls for the Christmas lights. It was a BRILLIANT idea and one we might have to make a annual tradition! The weather was chilly, which was great to get us into the Christmas spirit. There were hardly any people there and the kids had a blast! I seriously love Jaxson's face in this picture.
They have around 2 million lights on the walk and its right by the lake, its perfect!
How cute are these two! I love the Christmas spirit that explodes in our kids, so much fun!
Santa is usually there, but he had the night off to get ready for his Thanksgiving meal :)

Oh Christmas Tree!

Since we are going to be out of town for Thanksgiving I decided we should take care of decorating for Christmas while we had a free weekend. My fabulous husband smiled the whole time he removed the 15+ bins of Christmas decorations from the attic....he's so awesome! :)
The kids had a great time decorating the tree! There's a few ornaments Bailey likes to pull off and tell us about, but for the most part she's done really well. Its funny how we put up this huge new thing, put lights on it, beautiful ornaments with pictures and then say....don't touch...the brain of a child just doesn't even comprehend that concept. So we're working on gentle hands and repositioning those which seem to be a little too interesting..and a little too dangerous!

I love this time of year with the kids, their excitement and energy for the holidays is infectious!

Sugar Cookies

Yesterday was a very cold, cold day! While we certainly enjoyed the cold weather, we were going a little stir crazy with being inside...so we decided to spend the afternoon making sugar cookies. The kids had a blast and the cookies turned out great! Bailey made a huge mess, but who cares! The great memories with the kids were worth the clean up!

Enjoying their hard work...YUM!

Lost Tooth

Jaxson lost his second tooth this past Thursday. He was out on the playground and took a drink of water, he said he felt something moving around in his mouth and then figured out it was his tooth! I'm so glad he didn't swallow this one! They put his tooth in this cute little treasure chest!

No Turkey Here Jack!

Jaxson had a family homework project that we had a lot of fun together! We were given a blank turkey and told that he needed to be decorated to disguise being captured and eaten for Thanksgiving. We immediately decided the most appropriate direction would be full on Duck Dynasty style! Our turkey has camo, a full beard and bandana! NO TURKEY HERE JACK!

Purse?

Bailey is such a girly girl, she loves her hair bows, jewelry, shoes, clean hands and purses! Today she cracked me up! We were leaving for school this morning and I said "Bailey are you ready to go?" She starts shouting "purse, purse", I said "are you wanting to bring your purse?" She starts jumping up and down clapping her hands saying "yes purse, go my purse go"! She is so funny we just love her girly side!

Inks Lake Camping

This past weekend we went camping at Inks Lake with our fabulous neighbors. We had the BEST campsite! We have officially found the best campsite when we want to be in the lake and the best one for in the Fall when we don't want to be in the lake. Both families have monster tents so we needed the space and this site was perfect for that! We even had room for ladder golf and horse shoes.
The site was up at the front of the camp grounds and was walking distance to the park. We went up to the swings a lot while we were there!

The weather couldn't have been any more perfect! The days before it had rained, but not much rain fell at Inks Lake. The temperatures were perfect and they cooled down at night for a great campfire. We did a whole lot of good camp eating...yum!!

The mornings were very chilly, but the men got a good fire going and Mel brought a coffee pot so we warmed up while we filled our bellies up. Perfect combo! Day two kicked off with a hike for the older group.
The kids and I headed over to the park for some fun on the swings and slides.

After lunch we cruised back over to the lake for a little walk and some fishing.

Saturday night was beautiful! Have I mentioned how gorgeous this weekend was! We again filled our tummies with delicious food, enjoyed the beautiful camp grounds and the incredible sunset!

We wrapped up our last day of camping with a cruise in the canoe for a few of us.

We had such a nice weekend! It was so much fun sharing this awesome experience with our fabulous neighbors. We certainly look forward to our next camping trip!
