Busy Season

We have certainly begun our busy season! We've spent more nights not at home, eating in the car and rushing around to the various activities. I don't know how large families keep up with this....I think the whole having a job thing gets in the way :)

Jaxson has had a lot of fun activities over the past couple of weeks that we've all enjoyed.

                                   Biscuits and Gravy with Grandparents

                                                       Muffins with Mom

                                                       Pancakes with Pops

I noticed during Muffins with Mom that some of the moms had picked up donuts and brought those instead of eating in the cafeteria....brilliant idea! So on the last day with Pancakes with Pops the boys picked up kolaches from our favorite place and brought those instead- way better than cafeteria breakfast!

The baseball season has begun, Jaxson is on the Braves and Scott is an assistant coach. This is from opening ceremonies.

The first graders had their musical this week and Jaxson had a couple of speaking parts. The theme was cats and dogs- he was obviously part of the dogs with these cute little ears.

We also had the first game of the season and the Braves did great! Scott is the pitcher for the team. Jaxson played several positions during the game and did an amazing job as the catcher! The team won! Way to start off the season Braves!

Inside, Outside and Other things...

A lot of these pictures are from over the past month, but I want to get them onto the blog. When I took Bailey for her 3 year well check we brought some toys with us to play with and avoid touching the "sick toys" in the office. She had this pad that she was coloring on and it said "draw a body of Olaf"...I didn't help her on this- I was shocked at how well she did with this drawing!!
Playing outside with Daddy on a gorgeous day!
We went back to the Blue Hole on Valentines Day for some hiking, a picnic and shakes at a outdoor restaurant nearby.

One weekend Scott loaded up the firepit and we burned all of the trees and debris that we had been collecting. We enjoyed sitting around enjoying the heat of the fire- and having a picnic by the pit.
Jaxson and Bailey had the day off for Presidents Day so his buddy Branson joined us for the day. It was of course cold and nasty that day so we had to improvise and find something inside - bowling was the perfect option! They look like twins!!
More cold weather activities...painting. Bailey's method is always full coverage of the paper.
One day we had the perfect amount of wind for the kite, this was Bailey's first time to fly a kite. She did great!

This day we had good weather so we were soaking it up- we made chalk outlines of our bodies and colored them in. The kids really enjoyed this.
Back to inside cold weather activities...tea parties with our friends.
More cold weather...ice!

And last but not least...the front tooth that "hung in there"....this grossed us out for a few days before it finally let loose and came out! Jaxson looks like a hockey player with the holes from his lost teeth!
I think its fair to say we are done with winter and ready to move to more comfortable temperatures that take us outside!

Pedernales Falls

We had such a great time a few weeks ago at Pedernales Falls. We did some hiking, had a picnic and scoped out their camp grounds for a future camping trip. It was a gorgeous day and I'm so glad we were able to get out before the weather changed!

The kids loved throwing rocks into the water!

When they got over to the sand they were in heaven...it was everywhere and they had a great time making a mess!

Bailey found this massive stick and Jaxson broke it into pieces so they both could have a walking stick.

The falls were gorgeous, we look forward to a visit in the summer when we can dip into the water and enjoy the park!
