Let the games begin...

Tuesday we went for baseball tryouts, Jaxson was so excited and doesn't he look super cute in his new outfit! While picking him up at YMCA I ran into a friend from our street, who told me tryouts were actually Monday night...NO!!! After a few questions we discovered she was talking about for t-ball, but we enrolled him in coach pitch...oh no...coach pitch is only for kids who are 7! Are you kidding me! Did I seriously screw this up! So we get over to the fields and find the lady who is running the show to figure out what in the world I did wrong. She said because he was 6 and right on the age line it was actually up to us on what we wanted to do. So we turned it over to Jaxson to decide- do you want to play with your friends from the street in t-ball or do coach pitch with the older kids. He chose coach pitch...proud parent moment!!! So the cheerleading committee lined up as he went in for his skill assessment.
He did pretty good on the pop flies, he did great on the grounders...and killed it on the batting! They gave each kid four balls to hit...he hit EVERY SINGLE ONE! He even slugged the pitching coach with one of his balls. After he was walking off the field one of the coaches came up to him to tell him how great of a job he did. AHHH another proud parent moment! We will find out next week what team he is on and next month practices and games begin.

100th Day!

Jaxson had his 100th day of school. He made a special shirt to wear and they did all kinds of fun 100th day activities. His teacher emailed to let us know she really loved his shirt. So cute!

Rainbow Party!

We had the cutest Rainbow birthday party for Bailey. The weather was perfect and we were blessed with an the incredible group of friends and family to help celebrate her big day!

The food was all rainbow colors of course!

The day before the party it was in the 30's and schools closed for "ice"...it was in the 70's and GORGEOUS at the time of her party! Thank you God for this blessing! We had the doors open, there was a bounce house...it was perfect!

Here's Bailey in her custom birthday outfit made by Nana...ADORABLE!!!
Bailey loved opening up her presents, she was so excited with every one of them and wanted to bring the gift back to each person that gave it to her. It was hilarious! She made sure to tell Jaxson with a few of the gifts "Jaxson this is Bailey's".
The birthday cake was a hit! Not only did it look awesome both inside and out...but it was delicious!! Bailey wasn't too sure about singing Happy Birthday to her!

After the party our sweet friends from Houston stayed the night with us. Bailey had a blast with the girls! They played so well together and had such a fun time! Bailey cried HUGE elephant tears when they left. It was so sad and also so sweet! We will be heading to Houston soon to visit for sure!

This weekend has been so great! The weather was great, the company was wonderful and the birthday was everything I planned for it to be! It was so much fun planning for this Rainbow Party and I couldn't be more happy at how adorable it turned out to be. Bailey had a great time on her birthday and that's by far the BEST part!

Happy 2nd Birthday Bailey!

Yesterday was Bailey's birthday, its so crazy to think that another year has gone by. She has changed so much in the last year and really developed her fun little personality. If there is one word I could use to describe Bailey it would be "vibrant". She is:
  • So full of life
  • So happy
  • So energetic
  • Loves to dance & sing
  • Knows no strangers
  • Very active and busy
  • Loud
  • Excitable
  • Full of laughter
  • Kind hearted (she's quick to ask "you okay")
  • Fearless
Really the list could go on with the incredible qualities that have come up in the last year! This child can walk into a room, greet herself to someone in the room and instantly make herself busy or find a friend to play with. She is uniquely beautiful inside and out and its crazy to think that she really is just two! We are so proud of the beautiful little girl that she has grown to be. Happy 2nd birthday sweet Bailey you are more than we could have ever imagined!

Anybody There?

So yeah it's been over a month since I blogged...like the longest "pause" ever...sorry, we're still here and well its been a little bit of a crazy month! First we got sick....this is Bailey having a fit over the stickers at the Dr that SHE put on the bottom of her feet. She had 104 fever at that moment so she reserved the right to be angry for sure! The Dr said she had the flu and we went home with Tamiflu. That stuff sucks is all I have to say!

After the flu I got a sinus infection and the following weekend a stomach bug. So yeah January sucked! In the midst of all of that we've had THREE ice days...okay really only one legitimate ice day and two other really cold days poorly "guessed" by the weatherman to be ice..he was wrong.
We've squeezed in some cousin time, these three are seriously adorable and I love their bond and growing relationship!
Jaxson's teacher told us at the parent teacher conference last month that he was on an advanced reading level and he gets to go to the library every day and get a special book to read. He's currently on level 1 and we are so proud of him. He is so crazy smart its awesome! Bailey loves listening to Jaxson read to him!
We've had a few picnics inside during the ice days to mix it up and keep the kiddos entertained. Bailey loved this!
We've also been busy with a few house "upgrades". This is our latest addition to the laundry room. Built and designed by my very talented husband! So proud of him and we LOVE it! Mom is making a cushion for it and I need to get a few baskets for stuff to go into. It's been so nice to get that space organized.
We also did a little upgrade to the dining room that I also love. I'd found this picture on Pinterest and loved the unique rustic look to the whole thing. Scott built the shelf and the panel behind the clock. After a great trip to Home Goods for some accessories this is the final product. I've got to get a few more things to fill it in, but I really love the way it looks.
So January we were busy, we were sick and we were stuck inside. We are certainly looking forward to a better month ahead!
