Richter Farm

My new favorite thing about going to the farm is taking pictures- old rusty trucks, tractors, and wide open spaces turn out really cool in pictures.

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend. It was full of thanksgiving and family time- mixed in all of that was a few early hours of Black Friday shopping, playing and watching football, several games of Skip-Bo, a visit from the Great Grandparents

A family 30th birthday party for Scott & I.

A trip to the lighting of the courthouse in Georgetown- another Santa sighting

And finished the weekend off with the Richter Thanksgiving at the farm...filled with tractors, cow sightings and wide open fields to make lots of noise- which Jaxson is great at!

We have lots to be thanksful for this 2009 and above all are thankful for the family and friends in our lives!

Santa's Arrived

Saturday we went to the local shopping center waiting in anticipation for Santa to arrive...on nothing less than a sled being pulled by a Harley Davidson! It was the annual lighting of the christmas tree. There was quite the swarm of kids to see Santa- we didn't swarm this year.

Holy Concrete Batman!

Today was successful- we have concrete- lots of concrete! The trucks were lined up down the street early this morning:

By noon the slab was filled:

And the rest of the day was spent finishing it off- they are still there working!

That's one BIG slab! Holy Concrete Batman!

Updates

Well its about time for a few updates from the Richter Zone! Tomorrow will mark a huge milestone for our construction project- we will get a slab! One year and five days after buying our land- we will have a slab....we're so excited!
Over the past few weeks between patches of rain we've had the plumbing installed:

Everything has been covered & prepared for the next stage:

Working on getting things back up and moving has kept Scott very busy. Another thing always keeping us busy is our sweet Jaxson- who today is 23 months old! It's hard to believe that we are only one month away from celebrating another milestone for our little man.

Each and everyday he amazes us with everything from new words, new skills, new knowledge...everyday is something new. Jaxson loves his puppy Tanner- who thankfully loves him back. He can count to 15, sing his ABC's, sing multiple songs like Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and loves to tell us when he sees a tractor, train, big truck or bus. He loves music- especially Metallica- this made Uncle Steve very proud. We enjoy every minute with him and can't get enough of his infectious sweet smile!

I think that covers all of the updates I can think of at this time. I hope to have more updates to share with our projects soon!

The Big 3-0

Today is my birthday- the big 3-0. It is crazy to think that I'm 30 now- am I freaking out about being 30? No! I thought for sure that this birthday would be tough for me, and I'm thankful that it's not. I have had a great 30 years and have nothing to be sad about.
I started off the day by cuddling with my two favorite people, it was a great start to the day. The rest of the day was "business as usual" - a busy day at work & evening at home. We're going to dinner this weekend, which is really all I need. Making a big fuss over birthday's just isn't me- I'm thankful to have family around to share this day- low key is just me :)

I do have to share this silly rap that my little sister Nikki wrote & performed for me over the phone:

Yo sista you rock
Around the clock

You are so cool
And I ain't no fool

Your life is a flutter
So hang on to your putter

Cuz life goes by fast
Soon you'll be in casts

Thirty ain't nuttin
You can still button your buttons

So have a good birthday
On this wonderful Thursday

Happy birthday
I love you!

With that- I'm off to enjoy what I'm sure will be a very exciting episode of Dora the Explorer with my little man....oh the life :)

The Sun!

My favorite time to take pictures is at sunset & I am not liking this business of getting home when it is dark- it's cramping my photography sessions & my ability to share tons of pictures! Here's an old picture- but one sure to make you smile!

The Letter of the Day is P....

Yesterday we finally had some Progress on our construction Project- we finally got our Plumbing installed. We both were smiling from ear to ear to finally see some change going on out there- after over a month of rain it was good to see us moving along. They are Planning on finishing up today & we are hoping to hear the words Passed during our Plumbing inspections tomorrow.
