Fun Day

My Aunt Pam was in town over the weekend and it was a great excuse to get everyone together again. What a huge change in Ian in just a month- here's pics from his last visit. Jaxson is SO cute with Ian. He just adores him, he's so gentle and he loves the little chances to sit down and hold him all by himself!

The 2011 Recipient of the Biggest Excuse Award is....

JAXSON!!! Who in the world knew a three year old could come up this many excuses! Here's a small recap of the greatest to date:
- "Jaxson please go upstairs and bring down the toys you brought up there." His response, "I can't daddy my throat itches."
- "Jaxson please bring this monster truck back into your play room." His response, "I can't I don't remember where my play room is at."
-"Jaxson please go in your room and bring your church clothes in here and get dressed." His response, "I am so very tired mama I just can't."
-"Jaxson please finish eating your dinner." His response, "But my toes are too cold to eat."
-"Jaxson please bring your dinner plate over to the sink." His response, "But I can't I'm just too small."
-"Jaxson please sit up and eat your dinner." His response, "But I can't I'm falling."

Really I could go on and on...you'd think that he would give up on the excuses as they NEVER work...but nope. Really I think he's just giving us a small preview of the teenage years to come.

Bowling Birthday Party

Yesterday we went to a bowling birthday party for our friends little boy Colton. Colton and Jaxson are so cute together and such good friends, Colton immediately gave Jaxson a huge hug when we got there! So cute!!
A few funny things happened at this party:
-I asked Jaxson to pick up a ball so I could take a picture of him- and he sent the ball flying into the next group.
-Several times when it was his turn he picked up the ball and went to the wrong lane. (captured in the video below)

I swear there was air coming out of the bumpers- I have no idea how the ball was making it to the end with as slow as it was going! Jaxson did break 2 mph by the end. Each time the kids cheered everyone for how great they did, which Jaxson enjoyed. It was fun watching him go bowling for the first time, we do need some practice.

Cake Balls

On Saturday, Mom and Nikki joined me for a new activity...cake balls. If you've never had a cake ball you are missing out....they are delicious! If you've never made one- use this blog as your warning...they are not as easy as they may seem. Next time I think cake pops are a better plan.

I did go right with one thing when entering this project...I invited two ladies with patience and creativity. How cute are these!

But who ever said food had to look perfect to eat it!

The Intervoo

Nikki and Jaxson had a such a fun time hanging out last night. While they were eating dinner she decided to interview him. His answers to the questions are exactly what we would expect and SOOOO funny!

While she was cleaning up after dinner he grabbed the phone and decided to start interviewing her- or the "Intervoo" as he calls it.

These videos just make us laugh so hard, hope you enjoy!

Construction Zone

It has been quite the construction zone in the garage the past few weekends. Scott has been working on finishing off the attic and Jaxson has really enjoyed his time in the garage with Daddy! Yesterday they made a quick trip to the tool store and Daddy came back with all of the necessary equipment to complete Jaxson's construction attire. Don't these two look so cute!!

Today while Daddy was working the attic Jaxson and I worked on one of his Christmas presents..building a house. We got all geared up in the appropriate attire for the big project.

We brought out the big tools to ensure complete accuracy.

We did a lot of hammering.

And when the project was nearly complete

We finished it off with the necessary stickers to complete our perfect little house.

Looks like the visits to Daddy's work have paid off, he's ready for hire if anyone is in need of an adorable little handy man!

Snow Day 2011

Jaxson has been so excited to see the white snow on the ground today- the excitement began last night when the little flurries started. This morning there was a beautiful coating of snow on everything- from the minute he woke up this morning he was ready to get dressed and get outside to check out the snow. The excitement started at the door and about 10 steps later abruptly ended when he touched the snow! This Texas boy had two seconds of that snow on his hands and he was D-O-N-E! We walked around a little bit more and then went inside to enjoy it from the window. At around 11am we made a second attempt and he did much better. He walked around, climbed on the piles of rocks covered in snow and kicked the little puffs of snow up in the air. We attempted a snowman, but the snow was just not sticking so it looked more like a snow blob than anything. Everything is slowly melting and I'm not sure how long it will last, but I'm with Jaxson...enjoy it from the window!
