Sprinkler Park

Last weekend Daddy headed out of town for a Guys weekend. Jaxson and I checked out the newest sprinkler park in the area....man these kids have the coolest things. This place was amazing! There were slides, a waterfall, big sprinklers, small sprinklers...just a whole lot of fun. I just love this picture of my little cutie that I snapped on our little adventure out.

A sewing Project

Last weekend I met up with Mom for a fun sewing project. This was my first time to use a pattern and I had the best teacher- my Mom!

The pattern instructions looked a little like Greek at first, but after going through everything with her I actually think I could do this again on my own.

While I was working on my project on my machine she was over there whipping out a beautiful shirt. This woman sure knows what she's doing!

The end result is this adorable skirt, I just love how it turned out.

With the insane Texas heat I will get a lot of wear out of this project this summer!

A bed upgrade

A couple of weeks ago Jaxson decided that his was bed was too small for him, he was quite upset by this sudden discovery. I'd been thinking it was time for a upgrade but he loved the race car bed so much it really needed to be his decision or we would only have issues. So we started shopping around and ordered him a new big boy bed. He was beyond excited about this new bed...we made a huge deal out of it to ensure complete success in this transition. I am happy to report that he loves his new bed and so do we.

The night that we brought the new bed home there was some assembly that was required. In true Jaxson fashion he required the appropriate attire for such an event...the watch and tool belt.

Once the boxes were unloaded Jaxson lined up his plastic tools next to Daddy's...you know..just in case Daddy decided that a plastic wrench and hammer were better suited for the job.

After the bed was ready he climbed in to test it out and was quite happy with the new upgrade. We did not test the new bed as we did here , in fact after a Cirque Du Soleil style flip happened at the mattress show room I think there will be no more jumping on the bed from this kid.

We sure do love this cutie!!!

Father's Day Fun

After a great lunch with the Richter's we all headed out to Brushy Creek Lake for some Father's Day fun. Despite the 100+ degree temperatures we had a nice breeze and a great afternoon of fun. We geared up for Jaxson's first Kayaking trip:

Uncle Steve and Popo joined us out on the lake...Scott raced them a few times. I held my own with paddling, but I took a rest during the racing moments there's no way I could keep up.

Jaxson helped Daddy with paddling the Kayak and really enjoyed being out on the water.

We stopped off near a cliff and saw a beautiful crane and three dear right up at the waters edge. There were lots of turtles and fish on our little adventure.

I think this guy will be doing a lot more kayaking, he loved the water!

Grammie brought some watermelon and Jaxson filled his tummy until he had a watermelon belly!

What better way to end the fun than to swing by the sprinkler park for a fun splash around.

We had such a great afternoon of Father's Day fun, and wonderful new memories with our little man.

Father's Day 2011

We had a great Father's Day today! This morning Jaxson told me that he was going to call Daddy "Number 1 Dad". I love that at just three years old he already idolizes his Daddy that much. The relationship they have and the bond they have developed melts my heart.
Since I did this for the Mother's Day post I figured it was only fitting to follow the Father's Day post with the last Father's Days these two have had:

First T-ball Game

Today was Jaxson's first T-ball game! Within literally one minute of getting out of bed he wanted to get dressed for the game. His excitement level was equal to Christmas and his birthday party.

He is such a good baseball player, I know we're only on game one but we are so proud of him and how good he is doing.

While other kids are drawing circles in the dirt, he's engaged, focused and ready for the next play. We just love watching him get into the game and absolutely love every minute of it.

This picture makes me smile- he was playing second base at the time, but moved closer to stand next to "Coach" and stand exactly like him.

By the end of the game all of the kids were charging after the ball and fully interested in the game....a huge step ahead considering this is the first game and the previous practices were not showing the kids very engaged.

Jaxson only got upset once when a kid from the other team came off second base to catch the ball his team mate had just hit. It was quite funny from our side.

Coach is doing a great job guiding these kids and has managed to deal with a few issues on the field in a really good way. One kid would not stay in his place so Scott drew a circle and told him to stay in it. The next play the kid came over and drew a circle for Scott and told him to stand in it...HA!! Gotta love the mind of a three year old!

Our little baseball player is so darn cute, we are really loving starting our weekends off watching him play a game he loves so much!!

T-Ball Practice

Tonight was a very big night for Jaxson and Scott- their first T-Ball practice. Coach Richter and Coach Carter made a great team and the kids had a blast! Really what is more cute than watching a bunch of three year olds run around in various directions while attempting to play T-ball.

We had a blast tonight and can't wait for our first game in a few weeks.
