Little Drummer Boy

Jaxson got this as a birthday gift for his second birthday...we decided he was finally ready to play with this toy. He is so funny with his drum! I love how he clicks his sticks before he starts to play. He's so serious when he plays- love that kid!!

Three Weeks Old

Today our sweet Bailey is three weeks old! Last weeks two week appointment showed she was up to 7lbs 12oz, an excellent jump for a week. She's still wearing newborn clothes and newborn diapers, but she's starting to fill out those clothes more each day. My days are filled with hours of staring at her sleep and holding her close for hours. She is just the sweetest little girl and we are so incredibly blessed! We love the few hours of the day when she's awake and Jaxson is quick to let us know when her eyes are opened. Here's a few pictures from the last few weeks

Brother & Sister

Jaxson is so in love with his sister, and we are so in love with both of them! You can already see the protective big brother come out which is so cute!

One Week Old

It's hard to believe that Bailey is already one week old! We are so in love with our sweet little princess! She has such a calm little personality and really only cries and fusses when she's hungry. She's a great eater and sleeper (minus one night of having day and night flip flopped). Her appointment today showed she weighed 7lbs and is looking perfect in everything she was checked on.

The highlight for the week is that she lost her umbilical cord last night so she was able to enjoy her first real bath.

Jaxson loves his little sister and has adjusted so perfectly to having her in the house, a huge answered prayer!! These first 7 days have been so great and can't believe how blessed we are with this beautiful little girl!!

Happy Valentine's Day

We had a nice relaxing Valentine's Day. Bailey slept in and I woke up to Scott bringing in these beauties!!

And Bailey got her own special arrangement too!

So in love with these two!!

Bailey was not exactly in the mood for pictures of her first Valentine's Day, she wanted to get on to her Valentine's meal instead. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect way to spend the day than with our new sweet little girl!!

More Bailey

Here's a few more random pictures from our stay at the hospital

Going home!!!

We were able to go home on Saturday- along with 23 other people. It was a long day waiting for them to get all of the discharge paperwork together since so many other people were on their way home that day as well. We finally left the hospital at 4 on Saturday. Her little going home outfit was so adorable!! We'd brought a couple up to the hospital but she's so small that most of them were too big.

It sure is good to be home! She's waking every 2-3 hours to eat and is eating perfectly! The small stretches of sleep are great and she's a great sleeper. We feel incredibly blessed!!!

Welcome Bailey

February 8th started early for us with an arrival at the hospital at 4:45am, I got a few hours of sleep that night but Scott probably got less as he was anxious to get the day started. We spent the first few hours in Pre-op getting the paperwork, blood work and IV's started.

At a little after 7 we were moved down the hall into the operating room. They got the heart monitors connected, the spinal set up and everything prepped for the doctor to come in. I think it was around 7:25 when all of this was done and the doctor came in. Those few minutes from the time I was rolled into that room and until I saw Scott's face felt like an eternity. Scott watched a lot of the delivery and was able to start recording from the time her head came out. Watching that video is so cool! Her first big breath she let out a good cry, that was so great to hear!! She is just perfect! A full head of hair and blue eyes.

Bailey Ann Richter, born 7:38am, 7lbs 2oz, 20 inches long

We are head over heals in love with her!!!

Jaxson was so excited to see her and is so sweet to her. A huge prayer answered that he would adjust well- and that he has!!

You're still here....

This seems to be the daily comment I get when I walk into work each day. Yes...I am still here and she is still in there! Despite the thoughts, predictions and hopes that Bailey would come early...she has clearly proven us all wrong! Today I am 38 weeks pregnant, I have never been 38 weeks pregnant! That is 266 days of being pregnant and only 7 more days to go. Can you believe that! In 7 days we will be a family of four, in 7 days we will get to finally hold our daughter, in 7 days we will begin a wonderful new chapter of our family that we have been so excited to begin.
So next Wednesday morning we are to arrive at the hospital at 5 am to get ready for our 7 am c-section. When I went in with Jaxson I had no idea what to expect and the day was so long with the end result being a c-section. This time I know the times, I know what to expect and with the delivery being early in the morning it will be a much easier day for me....at least I hope. I have nothing but good thoughts about that day and the experience overall being a better one than the first c-section.
So my plan for the next 7 days is to get as much sleep as I can, soak in the moments with our sweet Jaxson and be as patient as possible.
