Grounds Prep

As daddy prepares the lawn for grass, Jaxson is right behind filling his dump truck with leaves and rocks. This was a big job that required the Mighty Wheels to come out for assistance.

Deer Encounters

I let the dogs out back this evening and was quite shocked at the deer encounter that occurred. The dogs went out to the trees to do their business and out pops a deer. I of course ran back inside to grab my camera to capture the moment, as my 9 lb and 7 lb dogs bark like maniacs. I thought for sure the deer would turn around and run away- but nope he jumped at Marley like this was HIS turf! Marley lunged back and I screamed like a maniac. Oh my gosh! As the dogs started running to the porch the deer followed- I'm not sure my neighbors appreciated my manic screaming but that freaked me out! I'm sure this won't be the last deer encounter- but in the future I'll be corralling my animals instead of searching for my camera.

Bubble Lawn Mower

Jaxson got this for his birthday and we've been hanging onto it until we moved. Yesterday he went through an entire bottle of bubbles in his Bubble Lawn Mower. He loved it! He'd run fast to make them come out and then stop and yell "look at them go". It was the cutest thing. I of course picked up a huge bottle at the store today to keep the bubbles going!

The Jaxson Train

Bunca (Grandpa for those who don't know) made him a very special train for his bedroom. We totally stole the idea from Pottery Barn Kids- but made it better! This train even has wheels that move- how cool is that! Here's the original Pottery Barn concept.

Disney on Ice

Today we took Jaxson to Disney on Ice, we all had a great time! He of course loved Lightning McQueen and is the part of the show he talks about the most. He's been pretty wound up since the show and I don't think he's stopped talking since the show. It was a lot of fun!

Settling

We are settling into the new house very quickly. The move on Saturday went great- minus the fact that we had to fill the 26 foot truck twice- which we didn't expect. I am so thankful that we are never moving again- and I think our helpers feel the same way. Jaxson is in love with his room and playroom. As soon as he gets home from school he goes straight to his playroom- I love it! Other than the garage, most rooms are finished, there is still some arranging upstairs in the office area- but we have time. We've enjoyed the relaxing evenings and walks around the neighborhood. It is so nice to have freetime again- and have my husband back :) The other night I was running late from getting Jaxson and daddy cooked dinner...love it! Here's some pics:

Complete!

The house is done! We've passed all inspections and had the last crew in the house today. Tomorrow we pick up the truck to get ready for the big move on Saturday. We are so excited. We are beyond words on what our emotions are right now. I'm proud to share a few inside pics that I have been promising to share:

Bluebonnet Outtakes

The last adorable post might lead you to believe that my bluebonnet photo session with Jaxson went perfectly- it was not quite that way. Here's a few outtakes from our pictures:

He told me these things while we were there : "I don't like those cows" "I don't like these flowers" "That plant sticked me" ..... maybe next year

TGIF

Man I am glad it is Friday! If I've talked to you recently you know I haven't been feeling like myself this week. I think I need a few margaritas- yep that'll do it! This morning I went out to the house and cleaned mirrors and shower doors- my shoulder hurts...I am such a wimp. Next weeks cleaning list and to do list is getting longer- but the plus side to that is the days until we move are getting shorter. I have been terrible about bringing my camera out to the house- I need to add that to my to do list. Here's a good one I can share:

I bought this little can from Target a few weeks ago and put Easter candy in it- Jaxson calls it "surprises". Yesterday he told me he wanted a surprise, but we said he needed to go potty first- and he did. Bribery works....well kind of. Then shortly after that he went in his diaper...we're getting there- at a snails pace, but working on it is something.

I could continue to ramble on and on about nothing- but instead I'll leave you with this sweet picture.

Easter 2010: fun, food and way too much sugar

We had a full day of fun, food and way too much sugar!
We started off the day with a great surprise from the Easter bunny- new wheels for Jaxson. He was so excited about his new tricycle and was all tears when we left for church without his tricycle in tow. After a great celebration at church we grabbed the dogs, the tricycle and headed over to the Richters for Easter. Uncle Steve & Kat spoiled Jaxson with a basket full of sweets and a Thomas the Train movie...do they know how to wrap this little man around their finger or what! Jaxson also has his PoPo wrapped around his finger- he got him to start off the egg hunt by being pulled around in a wagon. He did end up getting out and filled his basket full of way too much sugar. After a nice nap he was happy again and ready for the next round of fun, food and way too much sugar.

We then headed over to my parents house where his Aunties spoiled him and filled him full of kisses. He had fun filling the eggs for the egg hunt with Aunt Nikki. He wouldn't miss out on a chance to have sweet Callie come over to do a egg hunt with him. They were too precious walking hand in hand across the street. She melted his heart with her to die for eyelashes and sweet little smile. Jaxson was on egg hunt number 4 by this time and figured out how to stockpile the eggs in his arms and then bring them over to the basket. He didn't know we were taking the eggs back out when he turned around. The two cuties had a great time and finished their visit off with a hug. They seriously are so cute together!

We had a great Easter together visiting with the families and enjoying a day full of fun, food and way too much sugar!

Easter Eve Picnic

When we started the house project we said- "Thanksgiving at our house" and then "Christmas at our house". When both holidays came and went it was then "Easter at our house". Easter came two weeks before we were ready to move but I decided today that it would be fun to have our own Easter Eve Picnic to celebrate how close we are to the end. Here's some fun pics of our family picnic.

Easter Egg Hunt

This morning we went to the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. Jaxson picked up a lot of eggs and had fun hunting for them. He's becoming a professional egg hunter with all of the egg hunts he'll do after this weekend.

Easter Egg Project

We had fun today dying Easter Eggs with Aunt Stephanie. Jaxson loved playing with the eggs after they were dried and cracked almost all of them. Oh well- I got the cute pictures already!

Who let the dogs out?

Yesterday we took Marley and Tanner out to the house for the first time. Since we are moving in a few short weeks we want them to get use to the house and the surroundings. They had a blast! I doubt they'll have a hard time adjusting to this next move at all....neither will the rest of us :)
