Halloween 2012

Happy Halloween from our super cute trick-or-treaters!!

Jaxson the fighting Power Ranger to the rescue- fighting off evil night and day brings strength to his super awesome muscles!

Bailey bug the Ladybug- flying around the world bringing happiness to the world through her incredible cuteness!
Seriously how adorable are these two!!
We did a quick stroll around our street with the princess in her chariot...she didn't last long, but enjoyed the little bit that she was out.

The reality of trying to capture the cuteness of these two costumes was quite challenging...the real moments played out as....

Bailey trying to get into the candy basket...
Whining because she wants to crawl away and Jaxson telling me "mom she's leaving"
Bailey catches eye of the pumpkins and plots her next steps to destroy them...
Pumpkins lose their body parts via the hands of the baby and daddy attempts to fix them
Daddy makes the executive decision that we are done and trick-or-treating needs to begin...
Ahh the joys of two kids, great memories. We have tummies full of sugar and plenty of sugar for weeks to come. Halloween 2012 was a success!!

Funny Stuff

When Jaxson was a baby we would rock him to sleep and then lay him in his bed. I guess we missed the tip where that's really not a great plan...so baby #2...new plan. Since we lay her in her bed and she puts herself to sleep there's a lot of activity in the bed before the sleeping actually happens. Bring in the video monitor and you have instant entertainment! Now that she's mobile its so funny to watch her. She sits up, dances, claps her hands, scratches/bangs the wall, crawls around, kicks her feet...you name it. I love to watch her. This past week she was working on getting to sleep and I saw her sitting up- then she folded herself over and fell asleep. Ouch...how can that be comfortable.!

Today she was rolling and flipping all over the place and landed like this. All that bed space and she wedges herself in like this! We just laugh and laugh at the crazy girl!!

Colorado Girls Trip

I'm a little behind on this due to sick kids and a busy life- but a few weeks ago mom, Stephanie, Bailey and I headed out to Colorado for a girls trip to visit Nikki and do some wedding planning. We'd had this planned for months and we were so excited to be there to see the fall trees, have a little vacation and of course see Nikki. Well a few days before we board the plane Bailey comes down with a virus and my grand plan of how this trip would work out...pretty much unraveled before me. I'll spare the many details but she wasn't exactly a happy traveler and I'm pretty sure she had altitude sickness. So needless to say I could have kissed the Texas soil when we arrived back home. So...onto the details of the trip. The flight out there she was excellent, she had a fever so she wasn't her normal wild loud self and wanted to cuddle which is great when you're trapped in a plane for two hours.

We got there late Thursday night and got settled into her cute little house in Boulder. Friday morning we relaxed and took our time getting going for the day. We hit up some dress shops to finalize the bridesmaid dresses and got some crafts to work on the centerpieces. On our way back Nikki took us up to this area to see the mountains and take in the beauty of Boulder. Not that you have to drive far...beauty is everywhere in Colorado!!!

Nikki and Gabe wanted to do some engagement pictures while I was there and Friday was a PERFECT night. Just down the road from Nikki's house is this gorgeous area with a trail, the mountain in the background a little creek...and God gave us an incredible sunset.

Saturday brought a bridal shower for Nikki at Gabe's parents house. It was so nice to meet his family. Nikki got SO many nice things, made me wish for a upgrade on a few things we have  :)

Saturday night Nikki took us to this super cute little town near her house to this INCREDIBLE Italian restaurant. It was so nice to have some time during our trip to make little stops like that and take in some of the really unique areas where she lives. The fall trees were incredible and literally one week later she was texting me pictures of snow covered trees. I'm sure glad we were there the week we were so we could experience the beauty of fall. Despite a little challenging traveler and situations we could not have planned for...it was a very nice trip and so great to see Nikki and participate in the prep to the big day!!

Pumpkin time!

It's pumpkin time...which means Jaxson gets super excited to carve the pumpkins and then five scoops in he gives up. This year we managed to get the biggest pumpkin in the patch..we had pumpkin goo every where! GROSS!!
Despite two times the pumpkin goo this year these two pumpkins turned out way too cute!! Just a few days from sugar day... I mean Halloween!

A Jaxson moment...

I just love Jaxson, anyone that spends a moment with this little boy can quickly pick up on his many amazing characteristics! He's passionate about many things, smart, analytical, sensitive, determined, thoughtful, helpful, friendly and seriously funny! I really could go on and on...but the stories show it all. Here's a few I want to remember:

  • While driving in the car he rattles of the days of the week, months of the year and counts to 20 in Spanish. When he asks me if it was right...I had to say sure...because honestly he knows more Spanish than I do!
  • When he asked me how to say 40 in Spanish I pulled out the trusty google to help me out...he thought I was so smart, but I quickly admitted I knew no Spanish.
  • Jaxson loves to get dressed up in his football gear. One day he had his full Texas A&M gear on and he comes in to show me, I said "oh don't you look cute", I was quickly corrected.. "mom football players aren't cute, their parents are proud of their hard work on the football field". Oh of course, that too!
  • This past weekend while Scott was out of town we planned to go to the park to play and have a picnic. I'm wrapping up things in the house and he comes running inside to let me know that he had opened my car door and Bailey's. Such a gentleman!
  • Sunday we picked up his Halloween costume- t minus 16 days to Halloween and he's worn it every day! Monday while driving home from school he tells me "today I was frustrated because I wanted to be home with my costume".
  • Out of his own sweet heart he will tell me "Bailey girl is so cute mom" or "mom you look so nice today".
  • Jaxson loves rock music, really anything he can air guitar to is his favorite. He's always trying to control the radio and get it on some loud song. When he does find one he likes you can guarantee he's banging his head and rockin' the air guitar in the back seat!
  • Bailey and I are off for a girls weekend to Colorado this weekend, every night during prayers he prays that we have a safe flight. I love how he always thinks of others.
  • This past weekend Scott was out of town, on Friday in the saddest voice he tells me about how he wanted daddy to be home, and how was he going to watch the Aggie's play without him. I told him I would turn the game on for him, to which he responded "you know how to do that?" Oh yeah, I'm clueless about football but he took that to another level.
  • The football game was late and he was so frustrated that the Aggie's were late to getting on TV, well the game finally gets on and he's on the couch calling plays to me in the kitchen "they sacked mom, and they had an assist mom"...and a bunch of other football lingo that I have no idea what he was talking about.
  • Sunday daddy was home from being gone for the weekend. Football is a huge moment for those two and Sunday night football is something they love doing together. So he tells me "mom the Texans and the Packers are playing, its a bummer"...because he likes both teams. So funny!
I could really go on and on, I'm so thankful for this blog and the ability to quickly document these special moments of our day to day life. Jaxson is such a sweetie and I am so thankful for all of his incredile qualities!

Football Fan!

I am not a football fan...there I said it..I've accepted it..I avoid it..I could find so many other things to fill my free time with than football. Scott is out of town..football free weekend in the house you think? NOPE! Jaxson is watching some game on TV, he's playing with his football game in front of the Tv and planning for tonight's Texas A&M vs whoever game...OH...Brother!! Does this mean I will have to sit with him and listen to the questions, endure hours of football with my son so he's not alone...oh the pain...oh the torture!! Maybe I'll learn something...from my four year old! HA, it's sad and oh so true!

Crawling

On October 11 at 8 months Bailey started crawling. It was such an exciting morning to see her start this new milestone. She was scooting underneath the chair and Scott was in the kitchen and noticed that she wasn't under the chair anymore. He yelled that he thought she was crawling. So we all got into the living room in front of her armed with a toy and away she went. Jaxson was so exciting to sit there and watch her. He kept wanting to pat her back and cheer her on...which distracted her a little of course. We're a few days into crawling and she's doing great! Her new mobility means we have less control over her sitting in one spot and playing- but so far she's not interested in going full speed...yet!

Eight Months Old!

Happy eights months to our happy little Bailey! Bailey has to be the happiest baby I know! I am constantly blown away at her bright personality and the beautiful smile that she blesses us with!

This past month has been a busy one, while Bailey is not mobile she is a very busy girl! She loves to be up checking things out, twisting around on the floor to get to a new toy, scooting around on her belly or her back to get on to the next thing. She is so busy- I really think I have said that almost every month!
Bailey is trying all sorts of new foods and growing like crazy. I'm not sure what her weight is but she's healthy that's for sure! We've had a few spells of allergies, which is never fun. But despite red watery eyes, sneezing and a inability to breathe...she's still smiling away and happy as can be! Love that about her!
Bailey is so in love with her brother. He walks in the room and she lights up. He loves to sit with her and play and will do almost anything to get her to laugh. Their relationship just makes me melt! I'm not sure when she'll finally decide to get on with crawling...we will have our hands full when that does happen. In the mean time she will get up on her knees and rock a little bit. She does a little planking move sticking her butt up in the air. There's a little boy in her class that does a army crawl...hopefully she won't pick that up from him :)
I really can't believe how fast the months are flying by! Every moment with our babies is so special, and while the days never seem long enough I sure am thankful for the special memories we make with them each day! Happy eight months to our bubbly little Bailey girl! We love you!!

Sweet Berry Farms 2012

We had such a nice afternoon at Sweet Berry Farms. I love that this is a trip we do every year and so special that this was a first for Bailey. The weather was a perfect fall temperature...possibly a little on the chilly side, but that didn't keep us from having fun!

This was our first year to do the Kids Maze.
This year they added a in ground bounce bubble which Jaxson loved!
We did the usual- feeding the goats, taking the hayride, smelling the flowers and riding the horses.

And of course we checked out all of the many pumpkins.

When ever we take pictures to document our memories there are always a lot of pictures to dump...the outtakes...or rejects. I think with the addition of Bailey and her being more active we have a lot more reject photos! There are a lot of pictures of us trying to get her attention or look at us, etc, etc. We just had a great laugh tonight at the MANY rejects from our afternoon outing!

Oh yes, good times!! What great memories we make every year, we certainly are blessed!!
