Colorado Girls Trip

I'm a little behind on this due to sick kids and a busy life- but a few weeks ago mom, Stephanie, Bailey and I headed out to Colorado for a girls trip to visit Nikki and do some wedding planning. We'd had this planned for months and we were so excited to be there to see the fall trees, have a little vacation and of course see Nikki. Well a few days before we board the plane Bailey comes down with a virus and my grand plan of how this trip would work out...pretty much unraveled before me. I'll spare the many details but she wasn't exactly a happy traveler and I'm pretty sure she had altitude sickness. So needless to say I could have kissed the Texas soil when we arrived back home. So...onto the details of the trip. The flight out there she was excellent, she had a fever so she wasn't her normal wild loud self and wanted to cuddle which is great when you're trapped in a plane for two hours.

We got there late Thursday night and got settled into her cute little house in Boulder. Friday morning we relaxed and took our time getting going for the day. We hit up some dress shops to finalize the bridesmaid dresses and got some crafts to work on the centerpieces. On our way back Nikki took us up to this area to see the mountains and take in the beauty of Boulder. Not that you have to drive far...beauty is everywhere in Colorado!!!

Nikki and Gabe wanted to do some engagement pictures while I was there and Friday was a PERFECT night. Just down the road from Nikki's house is this gorgeous area with a trail, the mountain in the background a little creek...and God gave us an incredible sunset.

Saturday brought a bridal shower for Nikki at Gabe's parents house. It was so nice to meet his family. Nikki got SO many nice things, made me wish for a upgrade on a few things we have  :)

Saturday night Nikki took us to this super cute little town near her house to this INCREDIBLE Italian restaurant. It was so nice to have some time during our trip to make little stops like that and take in some of the really unique areas where she lives. The fall trees were incredible and literally one week later she was texting me pictures of snow covered trees. I'm sure glad we were there the week we were so we could experience the beauty of fall. Despite a little challenging traveler and situations we could not have planned for...it was a very nice trip and so great to see Nikki and participate in the prep to the big day!!
