Sorry about the weird formating in that last post- my laptop finally died enough for Dell to care last night and I'm working on a very old desktop. Once my new hard drive, memory and keyboard arrive I hope to revive my old lemon of a laptop into something I will finally enjoy. Until then....enjoy this handsome man.

Zilker Park 2010

Yesterday was so gorgeous- and the timing was perfect because we were finally able to steal daddy away from house projects and get out as a family. Without hesitating I knew I wanted to go to Zilker Park. This is such a amazing park and we knew that Jaxson would have a blast. And a blast he had....we played on the playground, rode the train, had snowcones, ran in wide open fields, flew a kite and wore ourselves out! The pictures alone show the fun!

Week Recap

We had a very busy week, here's a quick recap:

We've had lots of activity at the house, I don't have many pictures of the inside to share as they have been staining the cabinets and everything is covered in plastic. I can share a outside picture- this is our GIGANTIC septic! We are very excited to see this in as we are now one step closer to having plumbing in the house- now if Mother Nature would cooperate and quit raining we'll continue to see more progress.

This 8 foot deep hole resulted in a whole lot of rock...future planting in this volume of rock should be interesting.

I had a busy project this week with this two day long painting project in our dining room. It is way more bold than anything I am use to...or Scott is use to. But we agreed to wait until it was all together to make any modifications. It's just paint afterall!

This weekend we headed out to Spring, just outside Houston for my good friend Natalie's baby shower. I was so excited to see her, but nervous about the long travels with Jaxson. He's not a huge fan of long travels in the car...but what two year old is. I had the portable dvd player all ready as a backup and we told him he was going to see his buddy Carter which made him happy. About half way through the trip he fell asleep, when he woke up an hour and a half later he says to me "Mama are we at Carter's house yet?" Carter lives 20 minutes away from us...clearly he didn't realize how far we traveled. A few minutes later we were closer and closer to Spring, he says "wow Daddy this is a big town, wow Daddy look at this big town". I suppose when you drive by animals like this on the way to your house...that does look like a big town!

Natalie's baby shower was gorgeous and she got to many adorable things- in every shade of pink possible! We are excited that our next visit to see them will be when Ms. Sydney is here:

Saturday night we stayed with Natalie and Scott and so did the Aston's. Jaxson had so much fun playing with Natalie's niece Alana who is just a few months older than him- they hugged when she left and kissed him on the cheek- super cute! When it was time to get ready for bed Jaxson was super excited to have his buddy Carter join him in the bath.

I have a interview in Dallas later this week for a position I am really excited about- so please send the prayers this way! I wouldn't be working in Dallas- I would work from home... I want this one SO bad!!

Random Jaxson Comments

While Jaxson is driving us crazy with his sleeping habits he is making us laugh during the day with his hilarious random comments. Here's a few from yesterday:
-while sitting at the dinner table he points to the Easter tree on the table and says "that's cool mama"
-while looking at his plate of quesadilla's he says "oh holy cow"
-while taking a bath I hear him tell Scott "this football is disgusting"

Weekend Randomness...

We headed over to my parents house on Friday night for a birthday dinner for Stephanie. Jaxson had a blast jumping on the bed with Aunt Nikki.

We were all laughs during the pillow fight with Aunt Stephanie, Aunt Nikki and Jaxson.
Jaxson loves playing with the bubbles from cleaning dishes and couldn't resist putting bubbles on Nana's nose.

There are lots of big trees out behind our new house, Jaxson has discovered a new love for climbing trees...with help of course!

We are feeling the terrible two's these days when it comes to going to bed and taking a nap. I wish this sweet face was what we saw at 3 or 4 am when he decides to throw a huge fit...instead we see a very angry little boy! We are both so tired from the multiple mid-night fits- it feels like we're living with a infant again.

One Year Ago....

Today I was going through our blog looking at what was going on a year ago and was shocked that one year ago today I posted this - a SOLD sign at our house in Round Rock. I am so thankful that our vision that started well over a year ago is coming together and while we are still living in the apartment- the end is coming very soon. This is what we are looking at these days from the outside. There have been lots of exciting changes in the inside and I hope to update with some new pictures this week.
