First Day of Kindergarten

Today is the first day of Kindergarten for our sweet Jaxson. He was so excited...and we were excited for him too. We planned his lunch last night, got his clothes and his bags all lined up, and he even went to bed a little earlier to get ready for the big day! He was all smiles this morning in anticipation for getting to school.
We got to the school with plenty of time to spare, I expected a whole lot more traffic but it wasn't too bad. The campus he is at is only Pre-k, Kinder and first grade which is nice...but there is a lot of classes in just those few grades!
He walked right into the class, got his bag hung up and headed over to his table. His sweet teacher had coloring sheets for the kids to do until class got started at 8am.
I can not wait to hear how his first day went and all of his favorites from his big day in Kindergarten!

Meet the Teacher Night!

Yesterday was a big day for Jaxson, we went to his school and got to meet his Kindergarten teacher. Her name is Mrs. Gatlin, she has been teaching for 18 years and is SO super sweet!
His spot at the table was all set for him and his table mates, he got to sit in his desk chair and check out the room. She had it set up so cute! They even have a class fish that is right next to his table.
Getting to meet his teacher and get one step closer to the first day of school is a little surreal right now. Watching him walk around and check it all out made us so excited to see the next phase of our lives with a big Kindergartner!

Great Wolf Lodge Adventure

This past weekend Jaxson had an awesome adventure out to Grapevine for a fun weekend at Great Wolf Lodge with Nana and Bunca. This was his last trip before kicking off the new school year, what a fun summer for this little man!

This place is a kids paradise for sure....indoor water park, outdoor water park, wave pool, story time at night, magic adventures during the day... the list is endless! The pictures sure show that he was on cloud nine!

We sure missed Jaxson while he was gone, but we were smiling ear to ear hearing all about the awesome time he had on his Great Wolf Lodge Adventure!!

Sea World 2013

A few weeks ago we headed out for a fun weekend in San Antonio to make some memories with the kids at Sea World. We had our fair share of challenges and lessons learned on this first trip...but we certainly won't make it our last trip, we'll just make our next trip better :) We arrived on Friday night to a fabulous hotel to be ready to begin our fun first thing in the morning.

Our awesome hotel had a shuttle which took us right up to the front, so we didn't have to deal with parking and walking to the gate. We were the second family in line at one of the entrance points, what a great start to our morning!
Our first stop was over to see the dolphins, which you can't feed anymore...major bummer, but the kids still loved getting up close to the dolphins...fearless!!
Next up was the shark tank and other fish, so cool to see them up close!
The next stop was some play time for the kids at one of the playgrounds.
After we burned off some energy it was time for the main attraction...the big man himself..Shamu!!
At the center of Sea World is the Bay of Play, it is fabulous. It has a little bit of everything and we certainly spent a good amount of time here as there was fun stuff for Bailey and Jaxson!

In the afternoon we took the shuttle back to the hotel to allow Bailey time to rest and re-energize ourselves for more fun. After a quick bite to eat we headed over for another fun show.
Before the show began this wonderful breeze came in and cooled everything off...but it also brought in a huge rain storm. So....the show was cancelled and we hung out until the rain passed. We finished off our first day by going to a fun block party over in the Bay of Play, Bailey even got up and danced!
Our awesome hotel was having a pool party, so we wrapped up the night in the water and hit the bed for a much needed night of sleep!

Day two we kicked off with more time with the dolphins, they were much more willing to come up to us and even got a little crazy in the water cruising around trying to splash people. I had one come up to me that I was able to pet, which was really cool!
We went over to see the Sea Lions and stayed around for the show, which the kids loved!

Next up was more time in the Bay of Play and splashing around in the water...it was a hot day for sure!
After we splashed around in the water we did our final lap around the park and visited the Penguins....who stink terribly, but the building was in the a/c so major SCORE!
We saw some shows, we rode some rides, we got a little wet...and we had a lot of fun! We left Sea World with some great memories and certainly look forward to our next trip!
