Lake Trip- Day Three

Day three of our lake trip brought July 4th celebrations. We had almost 25 people at the house and it was a blast! The day started with getting the boat ready for the boat decorating contest and boat parade. We went with a spin off of Treasure Island. We had captain Jax a.k.a "Captain Toilet tube", his deckhands- Bailey, Nana, Bunca, Mommy, Pam, Cassie and Chloe. Captain Toilet tube came from a name that Bunca gave him based on the toilet tube construction of the telescope that he used.

While our treasure island was surely the best on the lake, we didn't win. The pirates theme was used a lot with the other contestants who entered. Surely if there was a "oldest boat on the lake" category we would have won hands down!! Nonetheless it was a lot of fun and that's all that matters.
The rest of the day was filled with time in the lake, water balloon fights, rides on the jet ski, the sail boat, the paddle boat, playing in the sand and of course eating the fabulous food that always comes with this great group of family members!

Once the sunsets around 9ish, its still very light until well after 10pm. So it was a late night for fireworks, so the crowd couldn't hang around. We got a nice fire going for smores, did some fireworks of our own and then sat on the driveway and watched fireworks from every direction we could face! It was incredible the thousands of dollars of fireworks that people around the lake house set off. Thankfully Bailey slept through it all, I have no idea how- it was seriously loud!!
It was a Happy July 4th for sure!!
