Reindeer Run

Yesterday we did the Reindeer Run in Round Rock. The City of Round Rock opened up a new Tour of Lights...kind of a Round Rock version of the trail of lights. The only way you can see the 2 million Christmas lights is by car- unless you do the Reindeer Run. We decorated the wagon with Christmas lights and made Jaxson's bike glow with glow sticks.

We thought we'd just do the quick kids 1k since we had the bike and wagon- but after the 1k is when we realized we only got to get right up to the lights, not actually go through them.

So after we crossed the finish line we lined back up to go out again...for the full 5k...that's over 3 miles..with a wagon and a bike..yeah so that's when we started planning what we'd do differently NEXT year :)

Jaxson was quite the trooper, he did great on his bike and kept up with the flow. Bailey was DONE with the wagon! She wanted to eat the Christmas lights...yes Christmas lights in the mouth DO make your cheeks light up...ok that's funny stuff! So I ended up carrying her for a good portion of the walk, and Scott carried the bike for a good portion of the walk too!

 

We didn't quite make it all the way to the end, but certainly did more than half of it...that's a lot of walking for these two! Despite our lack of great planning for the event it was a lot of fun and we made great memories with the kids.
